The South Michigan Motorists Chapter of the Horseless Carriage Club of America and the Snapper's Brass & Gas Touring Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America invite you to participate in the 29th running of the Lansing to Dearborn Run. This run will feature uncongested country roads, good food, and a relaxed atmosphere. It is scheduled to precede the Old Car Festival at The Henry Ford. (Note: For information or applications for the Old Car Festival, contact Abby Boggs at 313-982-6058 or . The OCF requires pre-registration for its participants. "The Henry Ford" web site is http://www.TheHenryFord.org). Choose the participants selection. All pre-1909 vehicles (steam, electric, gasoline automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles) are welcome. Again this year, increased eligibility includes any pre-1920, under 20 h.p. (If you have a question about eligibility, please contact the run organizers). This is a perfect opportunity to get out those cycle cars! Thursday, Sept. 9: We will leave from The Henry Ford at 8:00 a.m. and travel approximately 100 miles to the Holiday Inn Express outside Lansing. There will be several planned stops along the route. We will have an indoor dinner with the group ($12.00 per person). Friday, Sept. 10: Saturday, Sept. 12:
Trailer parking will be available inside the blue gate at The Henry Ford starting Wednesday night after 5:00 p.m. in a predetermined pattern. The blue gate is off of Oakwood Blvd near the Automotive Hall of Fame. Overnight arrangements for Wednesday and the weekend are on your own. A listing of local hotels has been available at www.TheHenryFord.org. (You can also contact the Graces for hotel information). Our host hotel for Thursday night will be the Holiday Inn Express in Okemos, MI, which is holding a block of rooms for us. You must make your own reservations at 517-349-8700. Mention the Lansing to Dearborn Run when making reservations. Room rates are $79 + tax for double occupancy. Covered parking is not available at the Holiday Inn Express, so you may want to bring a tarp. We have made arrangements with the Okemos Collection (Porsche, BMW, Mercedes dealership) for inside parking like past years. Trailer parking is available at the Holiday Inn Express for those who plan to tour on Friday only; however, you are on your own for transport. For any vehicles having trouble on the run, two support vehicles with trailers will be traveling with the group.
The registration fee is $20.00 per vehicle and all occupants. Dinner on Thursday including hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, and vegetarian selections is available at $12.00 per person. The Saturday Pizza Party is $2 per person. All other meals are on your own. The registration deadline is August 30, 2010.
