What Works to Seal a Cork Float in an Old Carburetor to Withstand New Gasoline

Author: Bill Balduff

I have had success with sealing cork floats in my antique cars with fuel-proof dope. You can purchase this sealant at hobby shops. It is used on Model airplanes. I coated my float. Let it dry for 24 hours and then recoated it. I then let it dry for a couple of days before I used it. I have purchased a 4" block of cork from Restoration Supply Co. Their telephone number is 800/306-7008.
